12 March 2010
Good evening, my fellow blood suckers! ^w^
I do hope you'll be able to prise yourself off the necks of your victims long enough to check out the updates I've painstakingly prepared for you all this week ... 'Cause in the unfortunate event you're unable to do so, I'll have no choice but to introduce you to a new definition of the word 'painstaking'.
;She produces a wooden stake from her back pocket with her left hand, which she tosses into the air, catching with her right. She then proceeds to casually twirl the stake on her fingers like a baton.;
I'd ask if you've got the picture, but judging from the way you've all dropped your victims as if they were buckets of radioactive waste, the answer's quite obvious.
Ah, I do so love an attentive audience. ^_^
The 1337 516h71n65 page has been updated with one new sighting --- Definitely a must click, as this is the first time the page has been updated in nearly five fuckin' years!
The Family's Funny Quotes page has been updated with one new quote, courtesy of the ever capricious Cameron. Now, I do realise that a single quote doesn't seem very update worthy, but y'know what they say --- Quality over quantity! And trust me, loves, this is one high quality quote. ^_~
The Movies I Must See page was updated with a few new movie titles that, judging by their trailers, appear to be full of win. Plus, I was able to check off a movie title, as well --- Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland! *o*
Which, obviously, I saw a few days ago in the theatre with two of my brothers! Lemme tell you, though, actually getting in to see Alice In Wonderland was no easy task. @_@; In fact, it was similar to when 'uncool' people on TV attempt to get into 'cool' nightclubs. o_o; Er, well ... Not in the sense that we had to hoodwink an oversized bouncer with an outrageously wacky plan resulting in winnanigans galore, but in the sense that first time we went to see the movie on the evening of 9 March 2010, we were refused access ... As it had sold out while we were waiting in the unusually massive line to buy tickets!
I don't know about you guys, but this has never happened to any of us before, so we were pretty Goddamn bummed out. ((Especially me, as I had taken nearly two hours to get ready for the event! T_T)) Granted, it was a Tuesday, which in our movie theatre translates to 'half price day' ... But we've been to loads of half price days in the past, and it's always been absolutely dead in the place!
However, we decided to plan a little better for the second time around, by buying the tickets ahead of time for a showing the next night at 7:30 PM, on 10 March 2010 ... Which wouldn't necessarily guarantee us entry into the film, since movie theatres in Canada work on a 'first come, first serve' basis, but it would at least save us the time of waiting around in a massive line again, should one form. We also planned to show up an hour and a half before the movie began to be on the super duper safe side.
... Which meant that I started getting ready at 4:00 PM, ROTFL. I do believe it was worth it in the end, though, because I looked quite smashing, if I do say so myself. ^_~
Apologies for the shoddy quality, BTW! My camera simply wouldn't take the shots I wanted it to take, so I decided to make things easy for myself and just use Skelly's webcam, instead. And then I thought to myself, 'Shit, these photos are pretty low quality --- So why not lower 'em even further and merge them all into an annoyingly amusing animated GIF?!' Which is, of course, perfectly logical thinking in Malloryopolis. ^_^
And since I know everyone's gonna ask, yes, that's a colossal hairbow sitting atop my head, bwahaha! ^o^ I made it myself especially to wear whilst seeing Alice In Wonderland, ((Although I'm planning to wear it everywhere I go from now on, pretty much,)) By loosely following this extremely awesome tutorial on YouTube. Be sure to check out the video if you'd like an abnormally large hairbow of your own! *^^*
When we arrived at the theatre, it was instantly evident that our plans had worked perfectly, as there was no one in sight except us and the employees when we walked into the theatre --- Which, while it was relieving, was also a bit of a shock, considering there had to be at least two hundred people packed into the place the night before!
After sitting around for over an hour, ((And after a nerve wracking moment where we thought they were gonna confiscate my backpack, which was filled nearly to bursting with a giant bag of popcorn we had popped at home, along with various candy, chocolate, chips, crackers, cookies, and drinks I had bought ahead of time at the dollar store,)) It was finally time to hand in our tickets and claim our favourite seats --- Second row from the top, smack dab in the middle!
Next, all we had to do was get comfy and wait for the movie, ((And the snacking!)) To begin. And man, what a movie it was! *_* Excellent acting, fantastic special effects, beautiful costumes and makeup, stellar acting, and, of course, a magnificent story!
Plus, our theatre was only playing the 2D version of the movie, which made it a lot more enjoyable than if it had've been in 3D, as me and my brothers are most definitely not fans of this annoying 3D craze that's been spreading like the fucking Black Plague lately.
Seriously, I can't fucking stand 3D shit! It's outdated, it's cliché, it's visually unconvincing, it's childish, ((And this is coming from a chick who still collects My Little Pony toys and goes trick or treating every Halloween,)) Plus, it's headache inducing! I truly have no clue why it's become so popular again. Why couldn't it stay back in the 1980s where it belongs ...? Or, better yet, why couldn't it stay back in the 1890s, when it was first invented?! >_<;
... Let's change the subject, though, before I become so angry that I'm forced to raise William Friese Greene from the dead simply so I can kill him again. c_c;
I'm sure you all remember last week, when I was agonising over the fact that I still hadn't named my new Betta fish --- Well, apparently I enjoy agonisation, 'cause I still haven't completely decided what I'm gonna name him. X_X;
However, I am going to share a few of the ideas that've been ricocheting off the walls of my skull:
Acrimony.
Blaze.
Brimstone.
Flare.
Inferno.
Paroxysm.
Pyro.
Rage.
Sulphur.
I really enjoy the idea of naming him either Brimstone or Sulphur compared to all the other names in the list, but the fact that sulphur AKA brimstone is actually bright yellow in its native form --- As opposed to bright red, like my fish --- Is making me have second thoughts! I know this really isn't a crucial factor, but I don't want to appear ignorant for naming a red fish after a yellow chemical element. e_e;
As for the other names on the list, none of them have really stuck with me, either! The ones associated with fire seem too unimaginative, and the ones related to angry emotions seem too parodic. x_X; I'm confident I'll decide eventually, though ... The only thing I'm concerned about is how long it's gonna take! #_#;
Oh, and more more thing about my Betta fish --- In the comments of last week's entry, a few of you expressed concern that perhaps his new home was a bit too crowded. However, I assure you that this is simply an optical illusion due to the shape of the bowl and magnifying effect of the water! Emptied of water, it doesn't look nearly as jam packed, so no worries. ^^;
And with that, my vampy visitors, I shall bid you farewell! n_n
;She curtsies deeply and then skips off in a sprightly sort of way, twirling her wooden stake about once more as she exits.;

I rather like the name Acrimony. It's somewhat catchy. I personally disagree with the comments about his fine, fishy bowl being crowded. Bettas enjoy hiding at times so I think it looks marvelous. Wait till he starts making those fabulous bubble nets at the top of the bowl! You'll know your fish is horny then! lol
I think, out of all the names you listed, I like "Blaze" and "Pyro" best. They are a little cliche but I like them. Get a white betta and name the red one "Pinky" and the white one "Brain". I think my head would explode with epic win if you did that. Hehe.
I envy you for seeing Alice! It's not even in our theaters yet. Here we still have "The Wolfman" and some other crap movie that should never have been made. The nearest theater showing Alice is a 1.5 hour drive away! Bah; hopefully it'll come to this town soon so I can see it. I'm excited for you though! =)
Oh, and the lovely new quote you shared... I almost peed myself laughing! My dear, girl... you are legendary. <3
Heyyy, we have Cheapy Tuesday over here too! Why are Canadians stealing all the English traditions, huh? *looks aggressive* ;D Anywhore, I know what you mean about Alice; Mutti and I went to watch The Lovely Bones on Tuesday (cause it was Cheapy Tuesday!) and the line for Alice was across the foyer and out of the door! I was like 'Thank fuck we didn't try to go and see that!' -- I think I'ma go see it when it calms down a bit, cause it's bound to be in the cinema for about 857365873 years, it's that popular.
You looked absolutely amazing, by the way; I love the shirt you wore! I just can't believe you make so much effort on your appearence just to go to the cinema though; I usually think 'Eh, I'm sat in a dark room where no one will be paying attention to me -- I can wear a binbag if I want.' So kudos to you for not disappointing your public, as I often do :D
I would check out the tutorial, but I'm a complete sneed, so I think it would be better for everyone if you just made me one when you've got a moment. I'm being shameless, and I am half-joking, so if you don't want to, DON'T. Don't think that I am demanding this from you, but I am falling in love with that giant bow of yours *stares in perverted manner*
I'm glad you guys do the 'I'ma sneak food into the cinema instead of paying five million quid for some popcorn', but I'm glad you do it properly, with actual 'cinema snacks'. Kelsey and I take things like Philidelphia cheese and crackers, and lemon curd tarts :/ As soon as I turn 18, I'ma buy some Malibu and go to the cinema with that!
"... Let's change the subject, though, before I become so angry that I'm forced to raise William Friese Greene from the dead simply so I can kill him again. c_c;" I LOVED THAT!! ACTUAL LMFAO!! I *loved* that, but I hate 3D too. It's shit.
I think 'Pyro' is the best name out of the ones you've short-listed <3
-- Kayleigh
Diablo.
Name the little bugger, Diablo.
The end.
I'm so glad you finally saw it! I went to see it for the second time last night. I actually enjoy the 3d craze, now that the glasses aren't a horrible mix of blue and red ugliness that makes everything look purple and headache-inducing.
Anyway, it totally sucks that you were denied on opening night. But at least you were still lucky enough to sit with a crowd that didn't TALK THE ENTIRE DAMN TIME! I came thisclose to beating the living hell out of a group of prepubescent little snots that sat behind us and gave unofficial commentary throughout the entire freaking' film. I really didn't know that people that ignorant could think of THAT MUCH to talk about.
You should name your fish after one of the full names mentioned in the movie. Like Iracebeth of Crims or Absolem...
Or you could always go with Amaranth... that's a red flower. :)
MALLORY ITS TOM, IM BACK FROM THE DEAD :L MY SITES UP AND RUNNING AGIAIN YAYYYY!
AMG that .gif is fukken adorable! ^_^
I fail at names. I always get stuck in the (equivalent of) "name character screen" in every game I play. I'm sure you'll decide on something awesome though!
I've never seen a film in 3d ^^; I wonder if I ever will. It seems confusing and overrated tbh, but then again, I should try it before I bitch, I suppose :P Glad you enjoyed Alice!
I like the name Sulphur. Screw the colours. XD
I'm desperate to see the film, but I haven't yet. I think I'm going to see it with my friend Amanda when her prelims finish, but that's about 10 days away I think D: Don't know if I can survive that long.
Haha, you looked amazingly smashing :) I can't stop watching the animation...¬¬
I don't understand the big deal about 3D anyway. It should take a lot more than that to shock and entertain us these days, shouldn't it? I think so.
Maybe name your fish after a band or singer you like? You almost can't go wrong with those.
those are all might fine fish name choices. mighty fine indeed. do you think you'll have completed this monstrous task for next week's entry? we all eagerly await!
i kind of thought it must have been an illusion making the fish bowl look crowded, but it's so hard to tell from photos! maybe we just need MORE photos ;-)))
that bow is just all kinds of awesome. you SO need to wear that everywhere you go! w00t!! and you ALWAYS look simply smashing, m'dear! that's a fact.
Very pretty!!!
Hello...long time lurker, first time commenter.
Totally jealous that you've seen Alice in Wonderland...I love Tim Burton so much, and the movie looks so cool. And I agree with you about 3D. I saw Avatar in 3D and I ended up just taking my glasses off and watching it in 2D midway through the movie.
And I think that there's cheap Tuesdays almost everywhere...everywhere I've been anyways (which, admittedly, isn't far). We have them here to. Oh, and I sneak food into the movies as well :D
I like all those names for your fish...and I really like Inferno and Pyro...and Diablo, as Avarice suggested above. And I just realised that all those names end with "o"...yes, I'm random.
And I loved that gif...and I like that giant hair bow. I couldn't pull something like that off.
Malloryyyyyyy! you look awesome with that bow ^^ I really want to see that movie too. I am not a big fan of 3d as well, I just recently saw this Avatar movie and it sucked, really sucked. V_V
I like the name Sulphur! you should name your fish Sulphur. yup V_V
OMG ALICE IN WONDERLAND. I need to see that film!
Hehe, I feel honoured for being tweeted about :)
I'd really like to spend it on something related to my education, so I'm not just throwing it away. My parent's really haven't said what they want me to do with the money, I think I'm allowed to spend it however I want! But as I said, I'd like to save it for my education :)
Your head-eating-bow is made of win! You're too cute! ^__^
ps - my vote is for Acrimony. It's a fine name for a fishy.
you did alot.theres a ton of movies i want to see but none are graphic in the horrow sense,and i love some of those names you picked,i'd go with pyro for my foavorite though
That is a nice rainbow dinosaur picture. XD & thanks for your compliments on the drawing. I'm SUPER proud of it; all my dinosaurs have been supremely ugly and this was quite amazing.
I remember when dinosaurs were super popular a few years ago, but I don't remember anything about emo kids, lol.
I'm surprised that the movie sold out. Was it the first day? Oh god, half price day... should have called ahead or something, I dunno. :P Oh, wait. Hmm. :P
I effing hate 3D movies. They don't even show up 3D, and there's absolutely no way to wear 3D glasses if you're already wearing glasses! I don't particularly care for holding a pair of flimsy paper glasses up to my face for hours.
Have fun naming your fish. XD I'd tell you to make sure you tell us what you named him, but I'm sure you will, lol.
The waiting is killing meee. My dad got a CT scan today but no one knows the results yet. Unless my mom had been lying to me.
Dude, I feel so touched. (Errr, not in a creepy pedophiliac way)
It's all thanks to those non-school days where I would spend my entire time on the holy computer instead of having a life.
~
Your family quotes are hilarious. :O
'I lost something a long time ago ... Something I couldn't live without. My penis!' LOVE that one.
The only 3d thing that I will ever love is T2 3-D: Battle Across Time. It was in Universal Studios, and was the shizz. It had the REAL Linda Hamilton and Arnold Shwartznegger (sp? you know who I'm talking about). I was a wee little kid back then.
I even thought that when the machine guns were firing, they looked pretty.
What is 1337? That page took me for ever to read. I take it you like vampires?
you type like a book. You ever notice that?
That fish is going to have some weird name. :)
I'm jealous. I so want to see Alice!!!! I always try sneaking in snacks too! You look great, BTW.
Hmmm, maybe you should name your fish after his color. he looks like Garnet to me. I don't know though, you'll find the perfect name for him.
No movie I have ever gone to has been sold out, none have even really ever been that packed to begin with though.
I did like Alice in Wonderland in 3D because they put a lot of effort into it...but I agree that 3D is general is usually quite sloppy and not great. Think it's just an excuse to charge more!
[c + p] Affie gift! http://lovesnuggles.com/index.php?subaction=showcomments&id=1268943591&archive=&start_from=&ucat=& (permalink to the blog)

Sorry for the automated message. XD
I absolutely love your site! And I totally enjoyed reading your blog. I love the Inferno name for your new fish. (:
I so envy you right now, I reallly want to see Alice in wonderland, but can't at the time being. :(
Reply From Mallory:
Aww, there's no need for envy, love! I only see movies in the theatre two or three times per year, max. v_V; And I'm sure you'll get a chance to see it soon ... But if not, there's always the DVD release to look forward to! *^^*
haha i sorta disagree. yeah, 3d isnt like AMAZING anymore or anything, but it still gives it a cool feeling. it gets you more into the story (:
About the seaweed - YES. Just eat the regular seaweed in packets that is normally used to wrap sushi, onigiri, etc.
LOL and of course I love pocky and the peas, but I prefer the peas without wasabi. :B
I love the bow - and thank you for linking me to that video! <3 I now feel inspired to make one extremely large. :B I like that GIF nevertheless.
I'm glad you finally got to see the movie!
As for the new addition to 1337... HAHA... I despise looking at my brother's homework because it nearly makes me explode; the amount of mess and errors in there. I almost feel sorry for them. The thing is, they don't have nice fancy worksheets, and most of the time they're put together by the teacher and photocopied; it's most likely a mess. :(
I just thought of a name for your fish derived from your list. Firestone! Ahaha... if you like.
Yes, I'm sure the photo of the bowl was an optical illusion. :D I assumed so, anyway. :)
Sulfur... is a cool name but you're right; sulfur is often yellow. Choose another chemical element? :O
HIIIIIYA! It's almost 2am and I'm half asleep and wide awake at the same time but I'm commenting you anyway so YAY!
Me and my friends were in town the other day, and we were gonna go see Alice in Wonderland but it was sold out :( Kinda good that we didn't go though 'cos we were gonna try and sneak a KFC in and it was literally hanging out of my friends bag and we must have smelt like chicken XD But yeah we still have to go see it!
We always buy sweets beforehand from the shop that's across the road from the cinema cos they're so damn cheeeeap there. XD But the cinema we go to is like... 15 stories high (it's one of those mad fancy multileveled cinema things) And one time we got up to the 11th floor (where the film was playing), realised we hadn't gotten any sweets, so we went allllll the way back down, bought some haribo cherries and went all the way back up. XD I ramble the biggest load of shite sometimes.
AND 3DNESS. I used to like it but now it's just annoying me.. I liked it before 'cos hardly any films were in 3D and it made them all special when a 3D film was realeased, but now 'cos they're realesing so many films in 3D they're kinda spoiling it. -_____- GRRRRR. And the glasses are very annoying.
I like the name Pyro :D It sounds red and firey and dark but slightly cute at the same time (But that's probably just the way my mind works, I find everything cute) but YESSSSS Pyro sounds good. XD
Call it what you want, who gives a shit about chemical elements? (; I guess I'm only saying that cos I don't have the slightest CLUE about anything chemistryish (I'm a dipshit when it comes to science.. and alot of things, actually) and it could be something massive and if you ever met a chemist they would LOL@U for naming your fish that. But if you did name it that and they did laugh at you then it's purely because they are jealous that they don't have an epic fish with an epic name like yours and they're fish has a name like 'Fishy' ...LOL I actually know a fish called that. XD
BUT UM YEAH. FUCK THE CHEMICAL ELEMENTS TABLE! ^_____^
