Knock, knock.
;She grins in an anticipatory manner, waiting for her visitors to follow up with the obligatory 'Who's there?' response.;
Mallory.
;She continues grinning in the same manner as before, waiting once again for her visitors to dutifully reply, 'Mallory who?'.;
Mallory Maloney, that's who!
;She pauses for a moment or two once again. Then, quite without warning, she collapses to the ground in a fit of wild laughter.;
ROTFLMFAO! Oh, man, that was epic! That was legendary! That was phenomenal! That was the pinnacle of comedy! That was the epitome of win! That was ---
;She cuts herself off as she realises that she's the only one laughing. She blinks several times, a dejected look crossing over her face, which is quickly replaced by a look of childish rage.;
Fine, be that way! Hate my jokes! If that's how you wanna act, then I'll just never tell another joke on mallorymaloney.com ever again --- How would 'ya like that, huh?! =_=
;She folds her arms in a manner most sulky.;
Let's just move on to the updates. >>
Firstly, the Family's Funny Quotes page was updated with one new quote. I realise that one quote isn't exactly the motherlol of updateage, but for some reason, I really had to struggle this week to to get anything together. Bleh! x_x;
Secondly, I added a few new items to my Wishlist ... And I was also lucky enough to check one item off! I shan't mention anything else about said item, though ... I'm saving that for the blog segment of this entry later on! ^_~
Thirdly, I added a new show to the Favourite TV Shows section of my Facts page ... iCarly! This show has actually been amongst my top favourites for months now, but I forgot to actually add it to my list until today! o_O;
How, I have no clue, as the main reason there's so few updates today is due to the fact that I've obsessively been watching iCarly episodes on TV and/or SideReel.Com since last week ... And not doing much else. @_@; If you're already a fan of the show, then you'll understand exactly why I've been neglecting my other online duties ... But if you're completely unfamiliar with it, then I'll give you a quick rundown of the awesomeness that is iCarly.
It focuses on Carly Shay, ((Right,)) And her two best friends, Sam Puckett, ((Centre,)) And Freddie Benson, ((Left,)) Who all decide to start up a 'web show' named iCarly ... Which becomes an instant hit online. If you'd like to check it out for yourself, then head on over to SideReel.Com's iCarly section to watch an episode or two! ^o^
This program is right up my alley, as it combines a massive buttload of my favourite things into one twenty three minute program: The Internet, childish comedy, random shenanigans ensuing on a constant basis, characters who all have a unique fashion sense, and naming a site after yourself!
Hell, if it was up to me, this is what every show on TV would be like. o_o Since it's not up to me, though, let's move on to the next blog topic, before I become severely depressed over the fact I'm not in charge of every network station across the globe. ;_;
This topic was mentioned briefly in the second update above, and it focuses on something I received in the mail a few days ago ... Something that I wrote about back on 27 January 2010.
If that doesn't jog your memory, then there's not much hope for you ... So I might as well just come right out and say it: I finally received the Olympus FE 210 digital camera that I won in an epic eBay bidding war last month! ^o^ It came in the mail inside no less than three bubble wrap lined envelopes, so it arrived safe and undamaged. Most importantly, it also worked and looked exactly as the seller had described and pictured!
Which, yes, should be an obvious given, but when it comes to eBay, you simply never know what you're gonna get in the end, if anything at all! There's loads of ways you can get ripped off on eBay if you're not careful ... Or even if you're especially careful! Some times, there's just no predicting whether or not you'll get ripped off.
For example, some sellers take the easy rip off route. They put an item up for auction, just like any other seller might do, and then wait for bidder. After the auction ends, and the winning bidder pays the seller the amount they owe, the seller simply sends the winning bidder ... Nothing! This is usually followed by the nefarious seller closing their account and then creating a new one to rip off even more unsuspecting bidders.
There's also more intricate ways of ripping people off --- Such as wording the auction listing in a deceiving manner, so when you place the winning bid of $350.00 for a printer that's normally a thousand dollars or more, you don't realise what you're really bidding on is a printed picture printed out on the printer you thought you were bidding on! And nope, I'm not making this one up --- This actually happened to a friend of my Dad's a few years ago. A similar example would be from a couple years ago, when my brother bid on what he thought was a physical Dungeons And Dragons guidebook ... Only to find out after the auction ended that what he bid on was a guidebook in PDF format!
Now, while I obviously disagree with the rip offage of innocent online shoppers, I gotta admit that doing so in such a clever manner is kinda admirable. You gotta put a lot of thought, careful wording, and multiple loophole jumping into that kind of scam!
Thankfully, though, this particular eBay experience of mine went smoothly and without any devilry whatsoever, and in the end, I was rewarded with an actual camera which takes actual photographs ... Such as the one I took below to test it out! ^_~
Now, before you blame the camera on the fact that I look like a total spaced out stoner, don't --- It's my poorly illuminated room's fault, not my camera's! I currently only have a single lamp to light up my room, and it's dim even if I turn it on midway through a sunny afternoon. -_-;
I really should replace the bulb with a new Compact Florescent Lighbulb, as opposed to a Compact Florescent Lighbulb from 2005 ... But while the newer CFLs are brighter, I hate how they all give off such a sterile 'blue' illumination, as opposed to the older CFLs, like the one I'm currently using, which give off a much more inviting 'yellow' illumination.
So until I'm able to walk into my room and be okay with the fact that it's lit like a hospital morgue, looking like a stoner it is. o_O;

First off, I love iCarly. The most randomly entertaining show in the history of the universe! I just love Sam, she's legendary.
Secondly, you look GORGEOUS in the photo! Looks like your new camera takes decent enough pictures, even in the shittiest of lighting. =)
Thirdly, you should get a black light, color yourself creatively (skele-bones looks cool) with highlighters, and take some pictures with bright, colorful clothes on to make yourself glow. It's pretty sweet and i'd love to see the results if you do it! =)
Fourthly, I love eBay. But i'm so unnerved by how easy it is to get ripped off. There's been so many things i've clicked "Bid Now" on but never submitted, just because i'm so scared of getting jacked! I never have been yet, thankfully, but there's always a first for everything.
Congrats on your camera arriving safe and sound! Stay gold, gorgeous!
xo; Amber
They sell lightbulbs by colour here. You can get "yellow" fluorescent ones, but they're usually about 50c more expensive than the "blue" and "white" ones because they have to put extra crap in them to make them yellow (or something like that). I prefer the yellow ones too though, so I'm willing to pay more! :)
I absolutely love iCarly too! The first time I watched it, I was rolling around in hysterics for most of the show. Who says I can't be childish when I want? If anything, I prefer kids TV shows -- they're more fun.
I know I shouldn't laugh about the printed picture of the printer story, but I can't help it. That is just too funny, and pathetic that someone would stoop low enough to do that. Hahaha, oh my. I need to stop and continue reading..
I'm not even lying when I say you look absolutely STUNNING in that picture! Spaced out stoner, my fragrant English ASS!! You look amazing, and your make-up is flawless, and your hair is shiny, and I hate you for having perfect teeth.
And I'd love to have my room lit like a hospital morgue.
Is that bad?
-- Kayleigh
That is a very nice picture, Mallory. :D Have you dyed your hair again or am I just super late on the uptake/ forgetting a previous blog entry? =)
And now I'm going to leech off of your knowledge of the camera and ask how the pictures are in full resolution, if you please? =D My camera is absolutely rubbish unless the surrounding light is blinding, and I can't be dealing with pixelated/blurry pictures all the time. >.<
As for the lightbulbs, I agree that a yellow light would be superior. I'm kind of concerned that my own lightbulb is going to explode, as it blinks and makes worrying crackling sounds every few hours. This is not good, as said lightbulb is almost directly above my bed. :/
I think I've only seen a bit of icarly on TV once. I don't think I liked it that much, but it was entertaining on a Saturday morning. :)
I'm glad you got your camera safely! I actually sold an item on ebay, and I'm quite worried about the item I delivered because my bidder hasn't sent me a message or given me feedback, so I'm quite worried. :o
I don't think you look like a stoner :o
Not sure if i'm a full-blown Avril fan yet but I am a fan of "Alice" for sure. Gorgeous song. =)
What your parents are like with memory-wise is like how I am getting. I'll tell someone something and the next day i'll be like "did I ever tell you about... ?" It's going to run in my family, I already know it. =/
But yeah, with my Grandma it is alot to deal with but we do what we can to not upset her and try to help her in any way possible. We're hoping they'll put her on meds to slow it down. It'll help alot.
As for your question: not nosy at all. I'm going to change a few things on my site around and do like an "autobiography" kind of thing. I do live with my Grandparents though. I have since I was 4 1/2 months old. Lol.
;Is secretly listening to Alice before I leave for work.;
xo; Amber
i love your new layout =D
I'm in class, but I read your comment in my e-mail and decided to stop by quickly to say that I will make a skull just for you. ;) Do you want your name on it for anything? lol.
I did use the path tool, but it was in GIMP. The path tool was so hard to learn. >.< The thing I'm most hopeless at is shading.
I'll come back and read later, as well as respond to your other comment and possibly write a new blog entry. The weather's been so great here that I'm hoping to go on a bike ride right when I get home (at 4:30), assuming that the bike's tired aren't flat (I don't know where our pump is). My dad's fiancee is going to go with me, but we're too out of shape to go more than one or two blocks, lol.
congrats on getting the camera safe and sound.i too am gettings pictures developed by next week oh new lay and graphics on MG
yea i came to a huge block on what colros to use on this layout i finally searched on neopets for a scheme
Aww thank you ^-^
& thanks for the tip. I heard CuteNews isn't the safest, but I'll stay more protected ;)
iCarly is one of my brother in law's favorite shows & I have to admit - it is definitely entertaining!
I'm glad your camera came and is as you expected & all that. Yeah, you can never be too careful on ebay. I heard about this guy that bid on an xbox (or so he thought) only to receive an empty xbox BOX in the mail - yikes! You have to read the listings SUPER closely.
other than you talking about it, i have never heard of iCarly. is it a Canadian programme? i imagine it must be... although i *DO* a CBC channel where i live, which is nice because i like to watch Dragons Den and The Hour... when The Hours sees fit to put on new episodes, that is. and i also dig watching the Halifax stand up comedy shows from time to time. ahem... so anyway, i havent even seen it advertised on my CBC channel, so i dunno *what* it is. it does sound cute, tho.
also, i learned from the CBC that they make those fancy light bulbs in BOTH "cool" (re: blue) and "warm" (yellow?) tints. at least that's what the advert with the talking outlets would have me believe. stoopid HydroQuebec.
um.
have fun with your camera!
no, i am *NOT* a crazy person.
Damn. I knew about the hazards of over medicating [resistance & whatnot]. I didn't really know that most of the times they're not recommended. Thanks for the link, for sure!
I do think, that I should get some though. My mom used to bring home a small z-pack of Zithromax, for when we'd get sick. Especially if it moved to our chest, and became a respiratory infection
Annnnd, I <3 Ebay. You can find pretty much anything there, and sometimes at super fantabulous prices!
Sure, you run the risk of getting totally jacked - but that's what the seller ratings and stuff are for.
You look fine, love! The lighting doesn't look bad at all. I have one ceiling light and one nightlight. Yes, I do indeed sleep with a nightlight.
Agh, your brother was in bad luck there. A PDF. LOL. Oh man. I know sometimes people can be really crafty like that though. It's smart, but they would get a bad reputation wouldn't they? That's why I am not comfortable with buying from eBay; I'd rather buy from a trusted company. I hear that the reviews are helpful but after hearing what you said about making more accounts - maybe that's the easy way to go on ripping more people off.
THANKFULLY you got that gorgeous camera though! :3 Give that user some good words there. ;)
I have never watched iCarly - it seems pretty childish but I think in that sense I would actually like it too. I barely watch television though, so I doubt I could get into it. :P
KNOCK KNOCK...
Who's there.
I eat mop.
I eat mop who?
...
LOL U EAT UR POO?
<__<
Sorry, lame joke... just as lame as yours.
Thank you for your comment! I'm in a rush at the moment - getting told off by mum, great huh? - but... MISO SOUP, MALLORY! MISO SOUP!
It's usually in Asian supermarkets! Check emm outtt. I got some in a regular supermarket once, though. ;)
Oh we did have the jellyfish! I got a shit picture though but I posted it at http://o1s.net. ;) I don't know when you'll get a chance to see it but I shall be moving that domain soon so be warned. :)
I want to visit the zoo here sometime but they're expensive too. It's like I have to save up, pretty much.
Unfortunately my flash was off in those photos and they came out not-so-well. I can afford an SLR but I just got an iPhone - my parents would rage at me of course! I have an okay camera but the aquarium glass just sucked.
I've only seen ads of iCarly and I thought it just looked like another Disney pre-teen show like Hannah Montana so I tried to stay clear. I have extreme prejudice for shows like that, but from your description I may just check it out (I keep seeing on Netflix and running away!)
Its always a leap of faith when buying anything on eBay, I trust no one. Getting that camera was luuucky and you look super cute as always. *pokes your cheek*
Ahh I've not watched iCarly or any program of that sort in like... YEARS.
People use to tell me I looked like Carly from iCarly.. I never saw it though. Ps. Love your hair.
I like iCarly too, it really brings the internet into focus in a positive way that not many shows do nowadays. I liked your knock knock joke lol.
Hey babe. Yea, I don't think that I'll be away from the internet too long. I mean, we know for sure we'll have to get rid of cable tv, but I think Mike realizes that he can't let me go without internet for an extended period of time because I'll flip! If it does happen, I'd probably still tweet religiously via my phone through text messages. So, that shouldn't be too bad of a concern. We'll have to wait and see.
Mike won't even let me talk about it at this moment LOL He's like "we just found out yesterday, take a day or five to breathe! We'll figure it all out soon." Because I'm mainly all ZOMFG WE'RE MOVING!!! I must figure out everything RIGHT NOW. Yea, it's bad. LOL
Anyways, I still haven't read this entry. God, I suck at reading people's blogs. >_< Eventually I'll get a good momentum down so I can get all my dailies, sweeps, and friends blogs done every day before getting distracted by the all mighty internet.
Thanks for the comment and the congratulations. It really does surprise me anytime someone says that I'm interesting. I don't know, I know my life is crazy hectic, but I never figured it be interesting. At most, I think that people think I just whine non-stop. *shrugs* I do really strive to make sure I'm completely 100% honest and open when it comes to what I post though. No sugar coating bull shit to please anyone. Glad that you think I can achieve that. ;] Thanks again hun.
maybe i should post a new pic of my son on NT
Okay, commenting back 4 REALZ this time. XD
NononononoNO, I do NOT like iCarly. I won't judge you for liking it, of course; that would be stupid. ^_^ However, I will just skip past that part and onto the next thing... *la la la*....
Wow. People can be assholes. :/ Seriously, selling a PICTURE of the printer? Quite ridiculous!
My new lightbulb in my room at my mom's has the whitish lighting, and I don't like it. Of course it's better, but I've been so used to yellowish that the white kind of freaks me out. Everything looks strange and too bright.
Uh, I have nooo idea what that Twitter message of yours (bit. ly/cbdCOu ) means. o_O
Since you informed me of the missing exclamation point, I do not feel the stiffness of the comment. No worries. ;)
Oh, and by the way, I'm glad you got the camera safe and sound!
Funny joke. ;) I can't think of anything terribly witty in return. Poo. =/
Haha I love iCarly too! *high five* I'm glad to find out a non-preteen like me likes it too. xD I haven't been able to watch it in ages though because we don't have cable anymore at my house. Apparently we still get it in the basement, but it's too much work to go down there and watch. xD I used to like to watch it on the TV in the family room during dinner. Anyway, I love Sam... she's hilarious! :) Dude did Carly and Freddie ever get together? :P
Wouldn't it be awesome if you could just come onto the web and instantly have that much success? Imagine the pressure though. D:
I'm glad to hear that your camera came to you absolutely fine with no tricks! :) I knew that eBay was kind of a hotbed for scammers, but I had never actually heard any stories like that. I really want to know how that one seller managed to word the description such that no one knew it was just a picture that he was selling!
Just out of curiosity, did your brother end up winning the auction for that PDF guidebook? =/
Psh, forget the pupils, your eye make-up looks amazing!! I'm so terrible at using eye make-up, so all I do is draw around my eyes with one color of eyeliner, and maybe wear some mascara. I think it would be so cool if you did something about how you do your makeup... maybe write about it or make a video? ...Or maybe I should just look stuff up online. xD (This reminds me I need to order some new purple eyeliner).
Anyway... I'm glad you got your camera. :D
I don't think you look like a spaced out stoner in your photo. I think it's a good photo and I LOVE your make-up in it! It's gorgeous!
The ways people rip off others... just wow... a picture printed by the printer in the auction? A PDF guide book? That's just insane! But of course they use loopholes when they can so they can say "hey I didn't rip off anyone, they just misinterpreted the information!" Pretty imaginative. Wrong but still imaginative.
I love your eye makeup in your photo! The way the colors go is so cool! The most inventive I've been was trying out this blue and green eyeshadow because I only had like skin colored types before, and I felt like I put waaay too much on, like I woudn't go out in public, haha. I just need more practice.
Haha, I watch iCarly all the time too. I think the brother is hilarious, and the way Sam is obsessed with meat.
Yeah, informal was terrible! I really want someone to throw some sort of anti-dance, like an anti-prom, cuz that would be really neat.
I was surprised the school administration even let them have a informal with a theme about "glow baby glow." It reminded me of a rave. And they gave out glow sticks. XD
Oooh, how many megapixels is your camera?
Oooh and I want to say, I love your new layout! The bats are awesome! I've always wondered when you would put up a new one, because ever since I saw your site it was the other one. I had been getting excited to see this new layout with all your twitter updates about it haha
You know, I rather enjoy your "intros" to your blog. They make me smile. :)
Yay to legitimate ebay purchases!
I use those light bulbs too! For my lamp only though, because I think that they are better suited for doing art, especially when I get inspired at three in the morning. I use the "eerie factory" looking lights for regular daily use. I try not to though, because my bedroom is a purple-greyish colour that doesn't really help with decreasing the factory look.
I love your bangs. They suit you so well. I'm glad that you were able to get your camera safe and sound without any hitches. I often buy from sellers on amazon and always pray that my stuff comes in without any issues. I've never purchased anything from ebay, but my boyfriend has many gas masks from the site since he is a collector. I always get nervous, but he says it's basically a risk you take buying ANYTHING online.
And you don't look like a spaced out stoner. you look adorable!!
i' now on twitter,link on sidebar
Dentists and doctors only want the money. All the dentist told the actual surgeon was that I needed other work done... what the fuck kind of other work requires having your wisdom teeth?
My Grandpa and I came up with the excuse: he wants to pull them himself so HE can make the money instead of the surgeon. Bullshit, if you ask me. Yay for more impending doomy pain.
The exposed bone and nerve wasn't cool to look at, really. All I could ever see was just the hole on each side of my mouth. But I could feel it. It was the most painful experience in my life. Just imagine breaking your arm and having it pop right out of your skin; along with a nerve or two just dangling out of your arm in the nice warm summer air. That is how my entire jaw felt. My whole head ached and it felt like my jaw was being ripped out. Lucky for me, I went to the dentist, he cleaned both holes out with salt water (yay for more pain) and then shoved this gauzey stuff coated in Clove Oil. It was heaven. Numbed my entire mouth for a few hours and kept the bone and nerves covered.
Oh, and thank you for the lovely compliment on my layout! Glad you like it. =D I wanted something that had nothing to do with celebrities and now that I have Photoshop CS4... oh yeah. Hehe. Had way too much fun.
Retro stars ftw!
xo; Amber Lynn
yea i need too i have a few on my computer and on myspace
Well I AM a stoner, so at least you don't look like it in person haha
I was gonna say you write amusing intros to your entries but that'd just be stating the obvious so I'll skip that.
Congrats on the camera. I hope you'll enjoy it! ^_^ Internet auctions are win; awesome stuff and sometimes awesome deals. But yeah, there'll always be scammers, since people tend to suck. I've never actually bought anything from eBay, but I tend to do like 90% of my shopping from Tradera.se which is is a part of eBay but it's like... Swedish and stuff :P Only been ripped off once (so far >_<) which was a case of the fukken git not sending the item. Said git was dumb enough to try to rip off a multitude of people in a similar fashion and apparently got a visit from the police as far as I've been told xD Oh harhar.
Your makeup is win by the way; very pretty ^__^V
OMFG LMFAO THAT INTRO IS ONE OF YOUR BEST YET. XD
And OMGGGG I love iCarly! XD I started to watch it cos my wee sister was watching the first episode when it first came out.. and as I was bored, I decided to watch too, and now I'm HOOKED. XD
I actually consider Sam to be a great role model of mine! I even copied her idea of writing test answers on your stomach.. Although I copied an entire French essay which I was meant to memorise for a writing test. Although, I got caught.. The teacher kinda was wondering why I kept randomly lifting my shirt up during the test. XD Typical. >_<; But yeah, my wee sister is like 'CARLY! :D' cos she's an idiot and I'm like 'SAM! :D' cos I'm simply made of aweshum.
Aaaaand congrats on getting the camera! :D Yeah, I get scared on eBay sometimes, once I got concert tickets and I was all 'HMMMM.' cos I was scared that I'd get up and the security guy would be like 'OMG THESE R FAKE. GO 2 JAIL NAO!!!!!11one' .. But it was fine, as the tickets were indeedy real. PHEW.
And that picture is very pretty, the lighting looks fine, really. :) I KNOW I'VE PROBABLY TOLD YOU THIS BEFORE BUT YOU'RE AMAZING AT MAKE-UP. Aaaand, if I HADN'T told you before, then I'm telling you now... YOU ARE AMAZING AT MAKE-UP! There! XD
