I hope you all had a stellar Christmas, because I sure did! It was so stellar, in fact, that the blog segment of this entry will consist of nothing but a Christmas rehash! ^o^ But before we feast our eyes upon that delicious sight, let's check out this week's updates, yeah?
Thanks to Christmas, my Wishlist got quite a few things crossed off! I won't say anything more about that, though, until we get to the blog segment. >w<;
I added a single new quote to the Family's Funny Quotes page --- And while there's no doubt it's gelastic, I'm not sure if a single quote counts as an update ... But my family has been a little slow with the funny as of late, so I guess it'll have to do. o_O;
I also added a bunch of new favourite bands and books to my Facts page, so be sure to click on over if you're looking for fresh reading or music recommendations! ^^
And now that the updates have been sufficiently checked out, onto the blog! ;She does a bit of a jig in celebration. Said jig is highly HxC, as it involves much windmilling and spin kickage.; Indeed.
Christmas Eve kicked off with my Mum cooking the family a gigantic feast, which included stuffed mushrooms, butter and garlic fried shrimp, bacon wrapped chestnuts, a giant bowl of spinach dip to go along with a huge loaf of pumpernickel bread, loads of fresh veggies, many different types of crackers, and numerous different types of cheese and pickles spread out on platters.
While Mum slaved away in the kitchen whipping up all this deliciousness, my Dad was in my Mum's salon, installing a brand new fireplace for Christmas ... And I was holed up in my room, putting the finishing touches on an oversized Christmas card for my family!
After our massive meal, we all hung our stockings up on the fireplace mantel, while my seven year old brother Riley piled a plate high with Christmas cookies and filled a mug with milk for Santa. Next, everyone began to pile wrapped Christmas presents under the tree to open on the following morning, and then it was time for bed.
When I got up on Christmas morning, I realised I was the first one up --- Which is odd, because on a normal day, I'm one of the last! However, since everyone decided to sleep in, I decided to make use of the time and finish the Christmas eCard I had been working on to send to my online friends.
When the rest of the family finally got up, ((Nearly two hours after I did, might I add,)) It was time to open all of the gifts we had piled under the tree the night before! I had bought several pieces of Fiesta dinnerware for my Mum, the new Star Trek film on DVD for my Dad, a Max And Ruby DVD, a Kirby DVD, and a squishy, bouncy PokéBall for Riley, the fourth season of SpongeBob for my eleven year old brother Craig, and an entire gift bag full of chocolate bars, ((At least twenty five in all,)) For my seventeen year old brother Cameron, who has always included this on all of his Christmas and birthday wishlists, but never received until this year. It ended up being one of his favourite Christmas presents --- I can tell, because he's already eaten every last one of the bars, ROTFL.
As for the presents I received, I couldn't be more delighted! I got so many freakin' cool things I simply have to show each and every one of 'em off, so get ready for a picture and description overload! ^o^;
First up, a bunch of items I got from my Mum and Dad, including a mini Strawberry Shortcake storage container, Strawberry Shortcake hair accessories, a tube of Lip Smackers Lip Frosting in Whipped Cream, four different Kool Aid flavoured Lip Smackers, a tube of body wash by The Healing Garden, a tube of L'Oreal's Bare Naturale mascara, a container of Wet N' Wild's Ultimate Minerals power foundation in Light, a pack of skull patterned hair clips, hair elastics, and bobby pins, Arm And Hammer's Extra Whitening toothpaste, a new Oral B toothbrush, a Pingu passport holder, a mini Pingu storage container, a Panjjang mechanical pencil, a Kuromi pen, a box of herbal fruit teas, a container of Bubble Roller gum ...
And a thirty millilitre bottle of Avril Lavigne's new Black Star perfume! I was totally ecstatic to receive this, as I've wanted a bottle for myself ever since it was first released. *_* It smells absolutely delectable --- Very fresh, but with a lingering undertone that I can only describe as 'dark'. This is probably because it contains notes of pink hibiscus, along with deliciously contrasting scents of black plum and dark chocolate. All in all, I'm seriously in love with Black Star, and this is coming from a girl who never wears perfume normally!
Although really, it wouldn't have mattered even if I hated the scent and decided to never wear it, because just the way it looks sitting around in the bottle would've made up for it, haha! >w<; I also love the fact that the spiked 'collar' around the neck of the bottle is a removable accessory. So awesome!
That's not all, though --- Also from my Mum and Dad, I got four vintage Baby Sitter's Club books, The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong, ((Which is the first book in the Darkest Powers trilogy,)) The fifth issue of the Chibi Vampire manga series, Green Day's International SuperVideos! DVD, and two vintage Disney VHSs --- Peter Pan and Alice In Wonderland. *^^* I also got a $25.00 gift certificate from my Mum and Dad for the mall, and a $10.00 gift certificate from Cameron for Giant Tiger!
And I got a bunch of second hand My Little Pony figurines and accessories I'm going to clean up and add to my ever growing collection, again from my Mum and Dad. n_n;
But wait, there's more! O_O I also got a pair of red plaid pajama bottoms, two pairs of superplush pajama shorts, four different pairs of socks patterned with various Malloryesque designs ...
A white superplush housecoat patterned with multi coloured skulls ...
A black tee with a tiny white glittery cross on the front, and a giant white glittery giant winged cross on the back ...
And a long sleeved faux layered shirt with a grungy spider graphic on the front!
Plus, I got an adorable handmade Christmas card in the mail from Sarah, a skulltastic link back banner from Rose, and a stellar animated avatar from Kayleigh!
Then, a few days after Christmas, I used the Giant Tiger gift card that Cameron got me, ((Along with a few extra dollars of my own money,)) And bought myself some black sequined Chuck Taylors for $14.97, and a pair of plush Tinkerbell pajama bottoms for only $2.00! I have no clue why they were so cheap, but I couldn't pass up a deal like that!
And before you ask, yes, they are officially licensed by Disney, so that's not why they were so cheap, haha ... I think it might have something to do with the fact that the fleece feels a little 'off' somehow, not to mention the overall pattern looks a teensy bit wonky. Likely, it was a batch that wasn't quite up to par with the usual clothing standard Disney holds, and so they liquidated the batch to discount stores like Giant Tiger.
At any rate, I hardly give a shit. They're fuzzy, they're warm, they're patterned with images of Tinkerbell --- And they were two fuckin' dollars! *_*;
Two fuckin' dollars. Just like your Mum.
And yes. I am going to end mallorymaloney.com's last Updates/Blog entry of the year on that highly unfunny, highly unoriginal, and highly unclassy note, and you can't stop me --- So there! ^_^
I once got an entire licensed Eeyore PJ set for $4. There was nothing wrong with it. Sometimes, stores just need to get rid of stock, methinks!

I've commented before about my love of unusual shoes, and those look amazing. I got a pair of plain black Chuck Taylors for Christmas, and I'm currently on a hunt for some sparkly shoelaces to go with them.

& I always think it's funny how wonky clothes can turn out, but it sure is nice to find ones that aren't too bad & super cheap! I once bought this suuuuuuuper nice leather purse for only 5 bucks all because the inside pocket was kinda messed up. I was going to keep it but I ended up gifting it instead. Still, it was a nice score!

First off, in response to your comment on my blog. You weren't being discouraging just realistic. I'm under no delusions that I will get everything done on the list, but hey why not be optimistic? Ever since I saw Avril Lavigne's new scent, I've adored the bottle. It's unlike any other and it's funky stuff indeed. I got perfume from James, it was something I've liked for ages (Estee Lauder's Beyond Paradise). I thought it was a great gift. ^^

What I DID get was: Some old "junk" scrapbooking stuff from my Dad and stepmom. It's from her ten thousand dollar collection she has - she went through "Meh. I'll never use this. I'll give it to Nikkole." What irritates me the absolute most about it... She has all that stuff, and doesn't use ANY of it, NOR does she know HOW to use any of it!!! Her pages consist of: Pictures, 1-2 stickers, and writing on the background paper saying "Nikkole and Krystal" just labeling who they are. *sigh* It irritates me.
I miss being younger and getting presents. The thing about my family is this - When you have kids, your presents stop. Your gifts go to your kids. *shrugs*

My Christmas weight has seemed to drop off into thin air too...scientifically, into pee but whatevaaa. thank goodness for that. And I think my run was a first and a last...it's getting colder and icyer here. And yeeeaaah I love vintage clothes!! I buy clothes, too (so cheap, and so much diversity!), but I'm totally collecting those Rugrats videos. ^_^
