Minasan konbanwa! ^o^

Yep, I'm using yet another Japanese greeting, but this time it's a little more specific. This phrase means 'Good evening, everyone!', and if you're not sure how to pronounce it, then you can click here to listen to me do it for 'ya. ^_~

Of course, if you don't read this as soon as it's published, or if you live in a different time zone than I do, then the greeting, er, might not apply ... But that doesn't mean you can't learn something new, right? ^u^

Now, seeing as I've been extremely sick as of late, and haven't felt up to sitting in front of the computer --- More on that later --- Unfortunately, that means there isn't much in the way of updates. x_X I'm sure you guys understand, though. ^^; You're all quite good about things like that!

As you may have already noticed, I made a small change to the sidebar --- A section which links to my new Twitter account. I may edit it in the near future to include my current Tweet or Tweets, similar to what I had in the past ... But for now, I like it as is. It doesn't slow down mallorymaloney.com's load time, for one thing! @_@;

I received a birthday Fansign way back in July from my lovely friend and Affiliate Kathryn --- But totally forgot to upload it until now! o_O; Seventeen and a half apologies to Kat! ^^;

Yet another new Affiliate has been added: My friend Charlii Mae! I've known her for ages, but she hasn't had a proper site for quite awhile --- Until now, that is. She just opened up a new site on Halloween, so be sure to visit and show her some support! n_n

Speaking of Halloween ... Check out the stockpile of candy my two brothers and I managed to accumulate Trick Or Treating on All Hallow's Evening! O_O

Quite impressive, yeah? And that was all acquired in under two hours, m'friends ... While we were all suffering from pretty nasty viruses, to boot! If you've been keeping up with my Tweets, you'll already know that my parents and I suspect it's actually the H1N1 virus.

Of course, this is only speculation, as the idea of getting officially tested purely for curiosity reasons seems rather asinine ... But our symptoms have all been spot on. The only additional symptom is that I've dropped four or five pounds of weight in only a few days --- Which I'm guessing happened due to the loss of my appetite, like most every virus seems to induce.

Most people would probably be quite pleased about losing five pounds without even trying, but at the moment, I'm the exact opposite. I was already a little too close to the underweight category before I got sick --- And now, at one hundred and ten pounds, I'm even more so. At my height of five foot three and a half inches, if I accidentally lose even a mere four more pounds, I'll instantly be classified as clinically underweight ... So I'm definitely not happy about this, ugh.

But enough about that depressing subject. >< With a little work, I'm sure I'll be able to get my weight back into the healthy range in no time ... So for now, let's get back to Halloween night! ^^

Despite feeling sick, we all still managed to pose with the utmost of, er, professionalism for the required Halloween costume group photo. On the left is Craig, as the night sky; In the middle is Cameron, as Satan; And to the right is myself, as a black cat!

As you can see, I decided to go with the cat claw gloves after all ... Mostly because I was freezing cold from the virus, haha. And unfortunately, once again due to being sick, I was unable to make my nose look more like a cat's nose --- Because I knew I'd have to blow my nose every few minutes the whole night. ;_; I was pretty upset about that at first, but in the end my prediction was correct, so I ended up being glad I decided against it. Oh, and another thing I'm going to blame on the virus: The imbecilic face I'm making. e_e;

And again, aside from being sick, the Trick Or Treating itself was quite fun! Well, until we knocked on one house's door, anyway. >>; This particular house didn't seem any different from any of the other houses we had just been to --- Until the owner opened the door, that is.

Right away we knew that this particular owner was a little 'different' from the rest, due to the fact that he had a massive SLR camera draped around his neck, and that straight away he asked if he could take a photograph of us all.

Shrugging a little, I nodded, figuring there was no harm in a photo. 'Sure, no problem,' I said, smiling along with Cameron and Craig as the old guy fiddled around with his camera, finally snapping the shot after a short delay.

As he looked up from the viewfinder, the man made eye contact with Cameron, ((As you'll recall, decked out in his Satan costume,)) And said to him in a rather suggestive tone, 'You're a good boy, aren't you?' while chuckling in a knowing manner as he reached for his bowl of candy.

Cameron stood there in a gobsmacked sort of way until finally responded with a rather pansy sounding chuckle of his own, for lack of anything else to say. I myself had to work terribly hard not to suddenly burst out laughing in a rather hysterical manner, as all I could think the whole time was, 'This guy is clearly PedoBear in costume.'

After that, we accepted our candy as quickly as possible --- Not easy when the old fucker was taking his sweet ass time handing it to each of us --- And then we just got the Hell out of there. Now the only problem is trying not to imagine what ol' PedoBear did with the photo he took of us. o_O;

;She raises an eyebrow and then shudders.;

To distract ourselves, let's quickly move on to something completely unrelated --- mallorymaloney.com's second mascara mini review! You might recall I did a review of L'Oréal Paris' Double Extend Beauty Tubes mascara back in April, which was very well received, ((Not to mention fun to do,)) So I decided to write up another! ^^

This time, it's Maybelline's Lash Stiletto mascara, in Very Black. This mascara came out earlier this year, and claims to be 'the only mascara that does for lashes what stilettos do for legs'. Which of course, means lengthen your lashes, as well as give them a 'shiny patent finish'. The product's packaging seems to visually promise the same.

Intrigued, I decided to buy a tube for myself when it first came out, just to see how much truth was in the fanciful statement! I can't remember how much I paid for it, exactly, but I believe it was around seven or eight dollars Canadian ... Either way, it was money well spent, as you'll see by clicking on the thumbnail below!

Like last time, I hardly need to indicate which set of eyelashes were coated in the mascara. You can tell from a mile away which one it is --- Stiletto, indeed! The only claim that Maybelline can't seem to back up is the 'shiny patent finish' one: It's actually a soft matte finish, both wet and dry, so I'm not sure what was going through their heads when they decided to claim this. o_O;

In my opinion, they should have instead mentioned the fact that the mascara actually smells like a new pair of stilettos might, unworn and fresh out of the shoebox! While this may sound off putting to some, in my opinion it's absolutely lovely.

The only other thing I'd like to mention, ((And Maybelline agrees,)) Is you shouldn't wait until the first coat dries before applying another --- Get all your coats applied at once, before it has a chance to dry, otherwise you'll be the proud owner of thick, clumpy, flaky looking lashes. #_#;

Still, though, I would totally recommend this modestly priced mascara to anyone who wants exceptionally long/delightful smelling lashes, haha. ^x^

And on that prettily disturbing note --- Because, let's face it, not many people sit around and discuss the scent of their eyelashes --- I shall now depart. Check back next week for an Updates/Blog entry that's not related to Halloween or eyelashes!
