Home Sweet Home Hatred built a little house With tears to soften sharp edges Loathing designed its unusual shape So large and round it measured Happiness jumped from the rooftop Smiling as it died Joyous and giddy it was to go But when it left loneliness cried Relief flooded the building Filling it to the brim Sadness pulled the stopper right out It drained from the rooms within A fire indoors sparked to life Licking at the windows of thought Flames ate at all of the windows and doors And hope knew that its home was now lost 13 April 2007 Copyright 2007 Mallory Maloney
